Hope everyone is doing well!
I am in the midst of memorizing the Hiragana, and it is surprisingly going well. I especially found the Hiragana mnemonics sheet which Sato sensei gave us extremely helpful! However, for right now at least, I always have to associate the character with the picture and then the picture with the sound. Hopefully, I won't be long until I'll automatically know the sound. I am also glad we added the "key sentences" to our daily vocab quizes. At first I was a little hesitant about our class decision, but after studying the key sentences and further familiarizing myself with the Japanese sentence structure, I think it will most definitely be beneficial to our comprehension of the language.
Also this past weekend, after following a friends refferal, I found a Japanese TV show on YouTube involving of all things, a monkey named Pan and his bulldog friend, James. Not only are the segments involving Pan and James in Japanese and thus great to hear the language spoken, but the segments are hysterical. Most of them involve them taking part in "human" tasks such as doing push-ups, grocery shopping, and catching insects, and it is so wonderful/ amusuing to watch! I believe the TV show is called "The Adventures of Pan and James: Chimpanzee and Bulldog on Errands," but I am not positive. But, if you just type "Pan and James" into the search engine in YouTube their many crazy adventures should pop up. Everyone should take a look! Really.

hahaha woah that sounds like such a strange show... Ill have to check it out... Sorry im so late replying i forgot that these exist. I'm also typing this on my phone right now so if there are a lot of typos, that's why.
In terms of youtube I watch mostly one particular anime that I, and like have the world, am obsessed with. Its called Naruto. Please try it out its so amazing AND its I'm Japanese...with subtitles of course. I made my friend ty it the other day... And she's sooooo not an anime person but she fell in love with it and watched like fifty episodes that week. Try it!!!!!!
And yea i worked in a biophysics lab tis past summer at rockefeller university. It was really interesting. And i got paid, which was nice. We were researching certain genes in a strain of bacteria that can cause cancer. Fun stuff.
I went to japan the summer before that. I cant talk about that in a blog its too amazing i wouldnt be able to do it justice if i werent talking to you in person.
And i gotta go ti class now. Watch naruto. Sew you in like an hour. Jya ne
